If you’re shopping for a metal nail file. Stop. Now. You’ve found it. This is the only nail file you will ever need,and I’m 100% serious. I don’t cut my nails if I can help it. I have a tendency of cutting my nails too deep,which hurts,causes them to bleed,and potentially can get infected. I needed a nail file that can take down length and remain as good as new no matter how many times I use it. My nail file journey started with emery boards which were completely useless when it came to my nails. They did not work at all. I then discovered metal nail files,but they would become dull within few weeks or months. They still worked,but were painfully slow at taking down length.

I recently came across glass or crystal nail files that promised to never become dull,and all the reviews I’d read said they worked and continue to work perfectly,even after many months. I bought this Bona Fide nail file (aqua/green and it is GORGEOUS!) and a set from Mont Bleu as both had great reviews. Here’s my experience: This nail file works like a dream. It quickly takes down length,but not so fast that you end up taking too much off. I have been able to control the filing action very well. The grit on this file is so fine that your nails will be completely smooth along the edge. As the nail is filed,the nail is powdered. There are no papery wisps still attached to the nail.

The powder wipes off and there’s nothing left attached to the nail. I found the Mont Bleu grit was not as fine,and it didn’t completely turn the nail into powder as I filed my nails. I was still left with some papery nail attached. It was still a lot less than what I experienced with metal files,but it was not as good as this Bona Fide nail file. I will be buying more of these nail files as I cannot live without them anymore.

I have never had a glass file before. I’ve always just used the plain brown files or the buffers. I had no idea what I was missing.

when I go to the beauty supply store  I usually buy my nail files in bulk. I will use them about 3 times and then throw them away  even though they are still sharp. I had a really bad manicure wants  and my doctor told me that the nail file that was used made my nails get infected because of the way that they were never cleaned and were filled with bacteria and fungus. So now I am super cautious  and would rather just throw them away because I don’t know how to clean it’s cheap nail file.

This the one however is a non porous glass file. Which means that it prevents the growth of unhealthy fungus in bacteria  so I will never have to worry about getting infections on my fingers again.

Bona Fide Beauty’s are awesome! I use it on natural and artificial nails. It seams to glide right through whatever I’m filing. Is soo much nicer than the typical sandpaper like files! I have been able to clean it very easily too when I’m done using it. The storage case however is very cheap feeling and the color is coming off of it,but honestly it does the job of storing my file,and protecting it from breaking soo I don’t really mind that. Would definitely recommend buying one. You won’t be sorry.

It takes my nails down so quickly and leaves them beautifully smooth,even a week or two weeks after use!!! It doesn’t feel rough or abrasive,there’s no obnoxious or grating scratching noise,and it’s so easy to clean. I’ve definitely noticed decreased breakage and peeling with this file. I’m also pretty clumsy and have dropped this thing a few times on hardwood and tile flooring! Never broke.

The evidence of its quality is in the nail shavings! They turn to powder under this file. So absolutely amazing. Actually,the tip only recently chipped off after it was crushed against some hard surfaces in my room while cleaning. Even then,only a small chunk broke!
